Monday Highlights

Hello Friends,
It's Thankful Monday!
 My goal on these days is to find things to be thankful for as we get back into the week's ordinary routines. Of course, we should be thankful everyday, but I chose Monday to do this post in the hopes that if we start off the week being thankful, we would cultivate a heart of thanksgiving throughout the whole week. In the bible, it says:

"Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus, for you."
1 Thessalonians 5:18
I know, this very hard to do. However, God doesn't ask things of us that are too hard for us to do. Every hard thing takes practice. So, to begin, let's ask God to help us cultivate hearts of thanksgiving! I'm walking right beside you in this.

Here are some highlights from my day!

{1.} My little brother's infectious laughter. I played "Red Light, Green Light" with him during a school break. I just loved hearing him laugh and get super excited as I ran closer and closer towards him so

{2.} The fact that I'm at the beginning of my math book...which means I have easier sections that don't take super long, which therefore means that I finish school early. It's sometimes nice to end early ya know? :D

{3}. Cloud cover, cool breezes, and rain. (sigh) so lovely.

{4.} The little girls I babysat today who are just sooooo in love with their new baby brother. It's so cute, though sometimes they give him too much love. ;) The youngest one kept on kissing him and saying "my brudder, my brudder" and, "my beebee, my beebee."

{5.} And my Dad (and my little brother) who worked hard together on a new bookshelf for me and my sisters.

What are you thankful for today?

Much love!

Sorry this is a late monday post... I'll try to do it earlier on upcoming mondays.

Knit Love

picture from etsy

I came across lovely/cute knit objects today. Makes me want to start knitting again. It seems like I always knit in the fall/winter; mainly in the winter though because I really enjoy getting crafty during the Christmas season. ;D

Knitting makes me happy. I love picking out a pattern and then choosing yarn with the perfect shade of colors. I love knitting, as I sit comfortably on a couch or bed, on a cold rainy day. I love listening to the sound of the needles as they move back and forth against each other. I love the feeling of the yarn between my fingers. But the very best part, is finishing the pattern and the accomplished feeling that comes as I look at my finished product.

I'm excited to see what I'll be making in the upcoming months. :D

  Thought I'd share the pics I found!

Love the color of this wedding shawl. From pinterest

What about you. What do you like to do to get your hands busy during the stay-in weather?

Have a happy weekend friends!

Thank God for Farmer's Markets

"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations."
                   ~Psalm 100

The Lord is ever kind and full of blessings. This past weekend, my Mom, sister, and I went to a nearby Farmer's Market and got a bunch of fruit for a very reasonable price. It was such a blessing.

I'm thinking of starting a new series, "Thankful Mondays". It's hard to be thankful on Mondays sometimes because it's the start of a new week, school begins after the weekend, work starts up again, and things may seem dreary. Well, it helps to count our blessings and strive to cultivate a thankful attitude, God tells us too. If we are his children, then we truly have a reason to be thankful and find joy every day. So, on my free Monday's I'll be starting this new series.

Have a blessed week!

Fall is Finally Here!

According to the calendar, today marks the beginning of Fall :)

I love every season, but Fall is my absolute favorite. :)

With Fall, comes:

crisp cool mornings,

rain and the sweet smell that comes with it,

Walkways sprinkled with red, orange, yellow, and brown leaves,

the harvesting of pumpkins,
our early harvest

the comical smiles of the jack-o-lanterns, carved by my brothers and sisters,

pumpkin carving 2 years ago. :)

corn mazes,

mouth watering pumpkin and apple goodies,

hot apple cider,

and

Thanksgiving

I love Fall, the things that come with it, and the exciting feeling it brings. Fall leads up to my favorite holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

What do you love about fall?
