Craving Chocolate Shakes

After having been sick for a couple of weeks, my family and I were craving something cool, something smooth and delightful! :) So, Papa requested to have chocolate shakes. We have our own ice cream maker so we decided to try to make the chocolate ice cream ourselves!

Papa headed off to the store to get some toppings and arrowroot, to use as a thickener; and when he got back my sister Andrea got to work making the ice cream. She also made a homemade chocolate sauce too.

Later on after dinner, we were all able to enjoy the ice cream. It was out first time making chocolate ice cream and we thought it would have been better if it was a bit more chocolaty, but once we put the chocolate sauce and toppings on top it was perfect. We all thought that it was a wonderful treat!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I started school again this week and though I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for me to learn, I know how challenging school can be at times. :D So, I just thought I would share a few verses with you that have encouraged me when I worry about tests or grades or when I get discouraged.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
-Philippians 4:13

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you"
- 1Peter 5:7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
-Philippians 4:6-7

Something I have to remind myself often is what Corinthians 10:31 says, "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."  When you are doing your school and you don't particularly like it or you feel that you aren't particularly good at it, all you can do is your absolute best and do it for the Lord!

I hope you all have a wonderful school semester!

The Finished Beret

Hello everyone!

I thought you might like to see the beret I posted about a while ago, and what it looks like when it's finished! Perhaps this will inspire you to try this pattern out in the new year. :)

Here are some pictures my friend took. Enjoy! And I hope you all have a MERRY CHRISTMAS rejoicing in the birth of our Savior!

Thankfulness

Recently, I read a few passages in my Bible in the book of Luke.  I rejoiced as I read of Christ's love, compassion, and selflessness. He didn't turn away anyone who longed to hear his teaching or anyone who needed healing no matter how tired his earthly body was. I began to realize how small we really are and how kind Jesus was to come down to earth to proclaim His word and die so that those who believe in His saving work on the cross and choose to live for Him won't have to go to eternal punishment at the end of their lives. Instead, those who believe get to live in God's home, Heaven, with Him for eternity! The gospel is soooo amazing!

Thanksgiving is just a day away. It is a wonderful time where people gather to be thankful for all that they have. But I want to challenge those of you who read this, who haven't trusted in Christ for salvation, to examine yourself.   To whom are you being thankful this season?  Are you thankful that  someone cooked a turkey so you can eat it? But who created the Turkey? Are you thankful that someone grew cranberries so you could make cranberry sauce? But who created the cranberries? Are you thankful that someone baked a delicious pumpkin pie so you can enjoy it? Who created the pumpkins and the spices people use to make the pies? Are you thankful that you have a wonderful family that loves you? Who created your family? Are you thankful that you have a job? Who gave you your job? What about your house and clothes and food? There is only One who has given you everything you have, and who holds your every breath in His hands. This is Jesus Christ the One who came to earth to proclaim His word and die for  your sins. His love never ends. His hands are held out to you and He is ready to take you and make you one of His children. If you confess your sins, believe in His saving work on the cross, and choose to follow Him all the days of your life, He will save you. He never turns anyone away who goes to Him with a sincere and willing heart. Jesus is real and He is the ultimate giver of all things. He wants you to know that. Remember to thank Him this season, for He has given you everything.

Happy Thanksgiving!
